"When Roo talks to kids who have been victimized online, she has a gentle way of starting a path of open and honest communication and preventing the cycle of internalized shame."

30-Minute Online Safety Consultation
Not sure of what kind of help you need? Book a one-time 30-minute consultation. We will talk about your family’s unique tech challenges and I’ll be able to answer any brief questions you have.
I’ve helped families who had no idea where to start preventing online dangers and those who came to me with a specific issue they were struggling to navigate. Whatever level of support you need, this is a great opportunity to talk through a challenge or two and see if you would find further coaching helpful.
Emergency Online Harm Response Session
This is my most commonly booked session. A parent or caregiver will reach out to me needing urgent, short-notice assistance as their child navigates a specific incident of online predation or extortion.
I’ll help you figure out what to do and how to report the incident, and then — after speaking with you about what happened — I can have a separate empathy-led situation with your tween or teen. Without judging your child or shaming them, I’ll help them understand the situation. We’ll talk about how what happened was not their fault, and I’ll explain how perpetrators operate.
While this is not a substitute for therapy, I can offer my direct expertise, which families have found to be very helpful in making their kids feel less alone after online harm.
“When my teenage son came to me scared one morning, I knew exactly what to do. He had been a victim of an extortion ploy on Instagram and Snapchat. Roo was my first move, she jumped in and coached him in a caring and nonjudgmental way and put us both at ease in a very delicate situation.”
Personalized Coaching and Online Safety Plan
During our three coaching sessions, we'll work together to create a personalized game plan (and even a tech contract, if you’d like one) for managing your family’s unique online safety needs.
Topics we can cover include:
What conversations should I be having with my kid(s)?
What tech boundaries are appropriate for them specifically?
How can I set parental controls on their apps/devices?
What dangers might they encounter on the specific apps/platforms they use?
What do I do when their friends’ families have different tech rules?
The three sessions will allow me to chat with your kids, talk about their needs and concerns, have empathy-led conversations, and check in with you on new developments. I’ll help you put boundaries in place in a way that is as friction-free as possible. Oftentimes, families have found that looping me in helps show their kids or teens that online dangers are real and that their parents aren’t just being overly strict or controlling by setting healthy limits.
You'll walk away with a customized, written game plan to equip you to guide your child as they continue living in an online world. My goal is to empower you to feel knowledgeable about and in charge of your family’s tech safety.
“Roo is a pro at talking to kids about the fraught topic of online safety. She made time while traveling to personally reach out to my son & drive home the dangers that exist on all platforms. She's the best!”
Basic Online Safety Coaching
Don't need a full on safety plan, but would like for me to chat with you and your kid/teen about online safety basics? This session's for you.
I can walk you through settings for specific apps and some general guidelines. We'll have age-appropriate discussions of red flags on the internet, and I'll be happy to answer any questions you have — including any questions about Roblox, Snapchat, Tiktok, or any other app you’re considering bringing into the fold.
Oftentimes, families have found that looping me in helps show their kids or teens that online dangers are real and that their parents aren’t just being overly strict or controlling by setting healthy limits. The goal is to make you and your kid/teen feel better equipped to navigate phone usage and set you up for having internet safety be a regular part of your family conversations.
